Came here on a Friday night and it was busy but I made reservations ahead so we were seated right away. Loved the food and the vibe of the restaurant . Oh and their Moroccan coffee was delicious so make sure you try it...Definitely recommend this place...
Casablanca is an absolute pearl. The food is always on point. We ALWAYS get the Sultan's Feast. When you go through the door reality is suspended and you get to spend the next hour and half to two hours in a tent in a far away desert. We always go with at least four people. In addition to the meal we also purchase two pounds of spiced coffee to keep the vibe going at home.
I've had this place on my radar for about a year and we finally made it in last night! In a very unassuming spot I didn't know what I was expecting but it's a really unique place! My first tip- go ahead and make a reservation to be safe. You need to give them a call. We probably wouldn't have needed one last night because it wasn't super busy (Friday at 7:00, Easter weekend) but we attempted to go 3 weeks prior, on at Saturday at 6:30 and it was PACKED with no promise of being able to get a table. Just depends on the weekend I guess! My second tip- just Uber there or be prepared to park elsewhere. The lot is really tiny and a little troublesome to get in and out of. It's BYOB so bring along your favorite wines or beer and they will open it for you at no fee. We both went for the Sultan's feast which was perfect for us...didn't have to think about anything and they coursed everything out perfectly. Sultan's feast for us included: -lentil soup (so classic and tasty) -curried carrots and hummus with pita (the carrots were such a pleasant surprise. Hummus was perfect) -a phyllo dough with egg and almond (again, such a pleasant surprise...was more savory than I expected but so good) -chicken in a sweet sauce paired with a mint yogurt sauce (the main brain sauce was a tad sweet for my liking, but balanced so nicely with the yogurt sauce) -a stewed beef with peas (my favorite dish of the night) -couscous with vegetables (truly, how can you go wrong with this?) -finished with a baklava type dessert and mint tea (tea was a lot sweeter than we were expecting. I honestly didn't know it would be sweetened at all! but I appreciate it's cultural prevalence) Staff was so nice, belly dancers were great entertainment, and the whole experience was fun. You know the food is good when you leave satisfied/full but no stomach ache or discomfort! Haha Can't wait to come back! Would make a great spot to bring out of town visitors.
Wanted to try out Moroccan cuisine and found out about Casablanca. The website wasn't very informative nor had any information for reservations so we just walked in. We were the first people that evening so we did feel a bit weird looking at the ambience and low lighting and low seating. The staff was not super pleasant and actually gave us the wrong menus so we didn't even know what to order. Finally after getting the correct menus and realizing that they only have 2 pre fixed menu choices, we opted for the Sultans Feast. As the food started to come in, we were amazed to see the variety and deliciousness of each dish. The lentil soup, hummus, filo bread dish and the entrees (couscous with veggies, beef tajine, honey chicken) were all fantastic. The dinner ended with baklava and mint tea. There was also a belly dancing performance which was wonderful. It was the perfect entertainment to a great delicious meal. Totally enjoyed our time and will be back again for more.
Fun vibes Delicious foods Awesome service Unique experience Parking can be hard BYOB
Casablanca Moroccan Restaurant is as good as ever. They recently re-modeled, updated their decorations, and opened up the private room to make the place larger and more inviting. I brought my family here pre-pandemic and we enjoyed all the food and belly dancer entertainment. I dropped by with my wife on a weekday to check out how they were before bringing the whole family back here and I'm excited to bring them back, the food is as good as before! We ordered Sultan's Feast which comes with many items and actually confused me on what I was eating but everything was fresh and tasteful. Food came out as we finished each dish. Our favorite dish was the B'stela Royal, a crispy cinnamon filo dough with eggs and almonds. I appreciated the upbeat music and our waiter constantly checking up on us. Our drinks never ran dry. Our feast felt like it was made for a Sultan and we were able to bring the leftovers home.
First time: Went here to hang with my brother and sister-in-law. I'll be back on the weekend to see the belly dancers. Great atmosphere. Mellow. No booze. But that's a cultural thing. Gotta say: They were out of all non-alcoholic beers. If you're not doing to serve beer, at least serve fake beer. Just sayin. The food is good. Crazy good. OMG good. They actually have a $36/per person "everything on the menu" option for three or more people. Order it. There is NOT ONE THING on the menu you won't love. Seriously. Everything is awesome. So order it all and share. Just note: Someone should be in charge of taking the leftovers home. There won't be many leftovers. So that person might be very disappointed. But it would be horrible to leave without someone taking home the few crumbs that are left over. Super happy with my first time. Ready to go back! :-)
This place was great and the flavors took me back to Morocco. It's a wonderful country and in the interim before I make a return trip to the African continent, it's nice to have a place in town that serves Moroccan cuisine. The staff were great, although busy. They were accommodating, checked in on us, and more. There was a belly dancer, a nice entertaining show while eating. The food was all really good. We got a Sultan's feast and I enjoyed it all. The carrot dish, bastilla, and tagine were my personal highlights, but like I said, they were all great. To be honest, the bastilla beat out various versions I had in Morocco. I'd gladly go again to this restaurant. It was a great time, and based on the other people in the restaurant, we weren't the only ones that enjoyed our time there. The mint tea was great, reminiscent of how much I drank while in the country. I will say: they do serve it with sugar by default. A few places in Morocco asked if we wanted sugar, but here, they'll give it to you with that sweetness. For those sensitive to sugar or want the mint tea experience without it, I'd be sure to ask first. My companion had a smile on their face the entire night, especially with the belly dancing. That right there made it a 5 star experience, but I'm not even including that in my review hehe
